Ultrasonic Anemometer

High performance and low power consumption in a compact size.

Ultrasonic Anemometer
R. M. Young company

Ideal for the most demanding wind sensing applications.

Measures wind speed and direction. This lightweight and compact sensor features durable, sorrosion-resistant construction with sensitive ultrasonic transducers secured in a streamlined molded frame. Each sensor is fully wind tunnel fested and calibrated to provide accurate wind measurement over a wide operating range. The sensor is preconfigured to output NMEA serial data and a variety of output formats are available. Analog voltage outputs are provided for wind speed and wind direction. 4-20 mA current signals are available for each channel and are well suited for long cable runs or for industrial settings where noise immunity is important.

The sensor mounts on a standard 1-inch IPS pipe, and a mounting orientation ring is included that engages with the base of the sensor to retain orientation when the sensor is removed for maintenance.
